I just attended my first support group last night as a guest speaker, and it was a truly amazing experience. I was the youngest person there, but I still had a lot to say (and ramble on about) and enjoyed participating. One woman there had a little 5 year old daughter there who had OCD. I was touched by that mother's dedication to her daughter and relieved by the early intervention the girl received. This girl will, no doubt, grow up while learning coping techniques, having the support of her INFORMED family, and connecting to others through support groups. Unfortunately, where I live, there are not many support groups, especially for teens. This is partly why I decided to start this website, to provide a kind of 'virtual' support group.
Do any of you attend support groups? If so, do you find it beneficial? Is it specifically for people your age? How did you find the group, and how long have you been attending?
